“I’m living my best life, making great strides with my physical condition, and I have so much to be thankful for. Hello, my name is Kathy. I’m a school teacher of 33 years. I truly love my job, but unfortunately have suffered throughout much of my career. I’ve always had difficulty maintaining a good posture in the classroom, and have been plagued with tension headaches, as a result. I didn’t pursue any real answers to my difficulties, and just dealt with “quick fix” treatments, that never really got to the root of my muscular problems. That all changed in January of 2018, when I had taken ill, and just wasn’t able to recover. I had extreme muscle spasms in my neck and shoulder that would not let up for weeks, and I had great difficulty moving my right arm during this time. I felt very immobilized, and the most basic tasks were debilitating for me. My doctor put me on sick leave. But with no improvement, I was unable to return to work. In March of 2018, my sick leave had become indefinite, as to a date I would be able to resume my job. I was devastated. My physician had ordered X-rays, ultrasounds, and an MRI, but in the midst of all of this, he had taken a new position in Eastern Canada. At this time, I was directed to a new physician. He saw me through all the ordered tests, and referred me to Dr. Truong. My first visit to Dr. Truong was in April of 2018. This visit marked the day I started to get my life back. Dr. Truong was extremely kind and caring. He took into account all tests administered, as well as my physical history. He was able to pinpoint specific issues I was having during my assessment. With his knowledge, skill, and expertise, Dr. Truong began a specific regimen with me. We worked together as a team. I responded very well to Dr. Truong’s treatments, and I worked very hard with the daily exercises he had given me. Over the months, I showed continual improvement. By June, I was able to revisit my sick leave for the upcoming school year, and was able to go on a graduated back to work program in the Fall of 2018. During this time, Dr. Truong discussed the ergonomic set up of my classroom, and viable options available to me. This all came to fruition. With the help of Dr. Truong’s weekly treatments, and a better classroom set up, I was able to work myself up to teaching. I could not have done this without the help of Dr. Truong. I feel truly blessed to have been put into his care. This school year, I am able to teach 90%. I continue to see Dr. Truong, and am showing constant improvement. The headaches I used to be plagued with have become more rare in occurrence, which has given me a new-found sense of freedom. From this whole experience, I’ve learned to be more aware of my physical condition, and to be proactive. I cannot say enough thank you’s to Dr. Truong for his help and encouragement to get me to where I am today. I will be forever grateful that I have been guided into his care.”
